The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Atari 2600)

This is the only game based on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre film. Developped for the Atari 2600 by VSS, it was published by Wizard Video Games in 1983 like Halloween. It was one of the first horror-themeed video games and it caused a great deal of controversy. Due to a poor reception, there is a very limited number of copies, making it now a valued items amongst Atari collectors.






The players is Leatherface and he have to kill all the tourists that have trespassed onto his land! Chasing the tourist with the chainsaw, the player have to press the fire button to cut the victim when he get next to them (you get 1000 points for each killed), while try to avoid obstacles like hedges, fences, cow skulls and wheelchairs. The chainsaw only have 3 tanks of fuel : when the player is out, the game is over (a tourist comes up behind you and kicks you in the pants!!).
