This is the unique Halloween based on video game ever made. It was developped for the Atari 2600 in 1983 by VSS, Inc and published by Wizard Video Games. The player assume the role of Laurie Strode, protecting a group of children (Tommy and Lindsey ?) against Michael Myers in a house. The purpose is to guide the children to safe rooms while avouiding Myers and a knife can be found  to protection. The playerwill advance to the next level by either stabbing Michael Myers twice or rescuing five of the children.

Halloween is maybe the first video game with gore : Myers decapitate his victims and blood shooting out of the neck (but in an old pixelated fashion way). The Main Theme from the Halloween film can be hear every time when Myers appears, and it is a good rendition of the music for the time. Still, the game quickly becomes monotonous... Oddly, and probably due to a copyright problem, the manual does not use the name of the character (Strode is refers to the "babysitter" and Myers to the "psychopath"). Halloween is now very hard to find complete in box due to its poor distribution and low initial sales : some copies of the game were shipped and sold without a label, or with a simple white sticker whith "HALLOWEEN" hand-written on it to cut costs, causing a bootleg appearance!
